Children love to do crafts during the holidays. Keep them busy with this easy holiday craft idea and make beautiful ornaments to hang on the tree or to give as gifts.

The holidays are an exciting time for children. Making these simple holiday ornaments is a fun craft for both adults and children to do during the holidays. These make great holiday gifts for grandparents, teachers, and family friends.

Where to Buy Paper Mache Ornaments.

Paper mache ornaments are easy to find at craft supplies stores.. They are the color of cardboard and are available in many different shapes, including balls, stars, hearts and other classic ornament shapes. These ornaments are very inexpensive, usually less than $1 each.

Decoupage Glue

There are several types of decoupage glue and paste on the market. Different types give different effects.when dry, such as matte, satin, glossy, shimmer, sparkle and glitter. Many decoupage paste products are nontoxic and easy to clean up. Still, smocks should be worn to protect clothing and newspaper or plastic sheeting can be used to protect surfaces.

The glitter and sparkle decoupage glues look pretty on ornaments, because they reflect the lights on the Christmas tree and make any ornament look festive. Children especially enjoy making ornaments with this sparkly effect and using decoupage sparkle glue is much less messy than sprinkling loose glitter.
